Blackstack Studio invite you to the opening of their new exhibition Saying Something, part of the AKA Fringe 2017
SAYING SOMETHING draws upon the force and validity of the printed image in terms of mass communication as the historical basis from which all other forms of the repeatable image emerge. Each print in the exhibition attempts to show the parameters of our new image-based economy.
SAYING SOMETHING seeks to counteract, in the form of a visual antidote, that which is mass produced, mediated, and instantaneous.
Every year since its inception, Blackstack Studio has exhibited on site a selection of work by its members to coincide with Kilkenny Arts Festival. This year the exhibition is curated by the new Studio Manager Lynda Phelan, who is also an independent Curator.
Blackstack will also launch their latest BOX SET (2017) during the festival, which will be available to buy on site at the studio or online. Comprising of a number of limited edition 19 x 19cm original prints by Blackstack Studio members, this year’s BOX SET (2017) promises to deliver a varied visual treat.
