1. What’s the background to this print?
This print series is influenced by BW silent movies. It’s title was developed after a visit to Institut Lumièrei in Lyon France. The Lumière brothers were French inventors and pioneer manufacturers of photographic equipment who devised an early motion-picture camera and projector called the Cinématographe.
2. Tell us a little about the technique you used to make this print?
This print forms part of a series that explores the slip between Focograms & Photograms making. For this print the bw 35mm film photography is collaged with digital printing methods using light sensitive photography in the dark room.
3. What do you love about print/making?
Papers and Inks. Particularly light sensitive paper.
4. Which print/artwork would you love to own?
Any Photomontage by Marianne Brandt (1893-1983). 👌
